The only reason I can see is that its a debuff that gets used by all 3 specs. In case you arent familiar, pushback is when the progress of your cast is pushed back as a result of taking damage. Please note that you can still activate non-damaging abilities in between the 2 Charged Bursts and still get the cooldown reset on Trickshot, including Diversion. Choosing not to use a Medpac for financial reasons and subsequently dying is not a valid excuse. These are the builds that I recommend for different types of content and situations. Its still necessary to activate Cool Head ASAP if you find yourself below 45 Energy, but its less optimal to wait that long if you can help it. I have yet to encounter a situation in PvE where this is a good thing, so you either need to be mindful of when that can happen and prevent it. The increased crit chance from Relic of Devastating Vengeance proc synergizes with the Lucky Thoughts ability tree buff to make it more consistent and enable you to benefit from all the passives that increase critical damage dealt . This forces you to read through what everything does so that you can understand what all of your passives and abilities do as well as locate these abilities in-game. Thankfully, there is another ability called Crouch, which just always deploys your portable cover shield wherever you are currently standing. So you can expect damage of many thousands at the end of the game In case you needed another reason to want to use Penetrating Rounds on cooldown, it also applies the strongest of the DPS debuffs in the game, the armor debuff. Use Cool as soon as it's available out of combat and load a Frost Bullet, as it will remain until you fire it. Unfortunately, this experience doesnt translate as well to group content where Sharpshooter is not in a great spot. When it comes to survivability, most disciplines got defensive nerfs with the launch of 7.0, but Gunslingers got hit particularly hard. The Gunslinger is a Striker, plain and simple. In PvP, you are limited by the "Book of Coordination" which grants you a total of 340 skill points to distribute between your skills. This ability can also be used in the gap slot for some rotational AoE, though make sure at least one target gets hit by the entire thing. The buff lasts 20 seconds, but only affects the very next use of a single ability, and that specific ability has a cooldown that is less than 20 seconds. Also good to use against Bosses, as it inflicts Pain and Chill to improve all your outgoing damage and setup Opportunist Stab without the need of your pistol. It doesnt always work, but its worth trying to figure out which circles will kill you and which you can survive completely, or at least survive long enough that you can get to a point in your rotation where you will lose minimal DPS from moving. There are 3 different tiers to consider. Tripod 1. The highest defense chance that DPS and healer classes have is 10%, though most classes have 5% so you gear to counteract the majority and can use Illegal Mods on the others. It doesnt really matter when you use your second charge of Smugglers Luck so long as its after your first Aimed Shot and before the next. The vast majority of damage that bosses deal in raids is considered AoE damage. You wont get the full damage of your DoTs but you also wont have to spend a GCD to apply them when the boss is vulnerable, so you will end up dealing more damage. Unlike most other DoTs, it does not appear that youll get more ticks of Vital Shot if you apply it during a period of increased alacrity like youd get during Burst Volley. If Im not activating an ability right now, why not? When one of the tanks or healers just died, pop it instantly, especially if a tank just died, because theres a good chance that the boss is about to hit someone else or the group really hard. Its the same situation if Vital Shot needs to be applied. Build Essentials can include important ability tree . In all builds, youll need to use it sub-30% after youve used Quickdraw a few times. It is highly unlikely that a fight will last long enough where this delay will be enough to where it will result in missing out on a use of the Adrenal. Stay DownDealing damage with Aimed Shot to a target with less than 30% health grants Stay Down, increasing the damage of your next Quickdraw by 20%. Some DPS is better than zero DPS. Unless its clear that one of your other movement speed boosts is better like if you have already placed Hideout or youre out of range of the boss, this should be your default movement speed boost ability since its the most versatile. If a tank is telling you to stop DPS or hold off for a few seconds because they cant keep aggro, dont listen to them, theyre the one that doesnt know the proper way to keep aggro. Basically, you get a 50% movement speed boost after every roll. I get the impression that this build was developed with raiding in mind, though Im not sure it will be the best option for too many fights. You should practice on the dummy if youre not able to consistently execute the rotation correctly. Gunslinger PvP Skill Build Lost Ark lets players customise characters by levelling up skills and giving them special attributes via "tripods", functioning like a talent system. On its own, Surrender is your threat drop, but it can get buffed by 2 separate options in the ability tree. If theres a cover position in range (denoted by a little green silhouette), you quickly roll to that location and if you arent in range, you deploy your portable cover shield where you stand. Be sure to pay attention when something is stunnable though, because that often means youre intended to stun it. In addition, when you arrive at the gap in your rotation where you only have time to use a single Charged Burst, youll still get one stack of this proc to increase the damage dealt by your next Trickshot, which will typically be the one after using Aimed Shot or Penetrating Rounds, which helps with your burst in some cases. Please note that properly timing subsequent Smugglers Lucks can result in a slightly shorter cooldown duration. These builds result in the highest DPS because the individual options synergize with each other to amplify the individual effects. I will not be writing out ability descriptions and I will only be transcribing the components of discipline passives that directly relate to the ability and rotation. Battle rezzes in general are now healer-only, but there is no longer a global 5 min lockout on those abilities, so its treated just like any other ability, albeit with a much longer cooldown. This is why theres always so much emphasis on the AoE RDT buffs and part of why Gunslingers should generally have very low DTPS. How can I do as much damage as possible in each GCD (global cooldown, 1.5s duration before you can activate another ability) given the constraints of the fight? In-universe, this is supposed to represent that casting things requires more focus; for a Gunslinger, youre going to have trouble lining up your shot if youre taking a bunch of damage, so it will take longer. Discerning the damage type relevant to what Surrender mitigates is fairly easy; if the attack is coming directly from a lightsaber swing or blaster, its a Melee/Ranged attack and if its anything else, its probably force/tech. Welcome to my 7.0 guide for Sharpshooter Gunslinger! Right now, Sharpshooter is one of the best and most authentic specs in the game for solo content. Healers are also a lot more focused on the raid frame than you will be as a DPS, so they are far better equipped to know when it will be useful for the raid than you will. The Relic of Serendipitous Assault is generically good, but the Relic of Devastating Vengeance is better specifically for the Burst and Versatility Build. The typical rotation will look like this: Sometimes you have Burst Volley available, so the first cycle will look like this: Gap Priority(not applicable with Relentless Shots). 2 choices buff a discipline-specific ability (2 abilities, 1 choice each). In PvE, this will generally only be used for specific mechanics since most things youd care about stunning are immune. All offensive cooldowns (OCDs) should be used as frequently as possible under the conditions stated here and should only be delayed if they need to be saved for a DPS check or burst window, but dont start delaying them until you see that you have to. Even if you mess up, keep doing the rotation! If your favorite trick is "use gun on man", the Gunslinger is for you. Character Builds. There are only a handful of instances in operations where CC is required, so I will briefly go over what this Combat Style has at their disposal in addition to any other abilities I havent yet mentioned. The key to being a great DPS is to always be DPSing. Sharpshooter Gunslingers pair best with Operative / Scoundrel DPS since both parties provide both of the DPS debuffs needed by the other and offer all necessary debuffs for any Tech DPS Combat Style (besides the non-essential AoE debuff). And the first level of Agility gives you access to the Gunslinger perk, which you need for this build. Also assuming i did somehow magically cheat a chimera pistol onto my ps4, im not sure this would make the build any more successful. We will cover the Peacemaker Engraving in a later guide update. To be clear, Operative / Scoundrel DPS is by no means required and is not the only Combat Style that provides the DPS debuffs used by Sharpshooter, they are just the most efficient and allow greater flexibility in terms of what the other group members can bring. In fights where youll be taking a high amount of sustained damage, its important to use your DCDs in the order that maximizes your overall uptime. Either pick a different option when it can happen (and your raid lead may ask you to stop taking it if it continues to be a problem) or make sure that youre greater than 10m away from those enemies, which isnt always possible. The spec is designed such that you use the other two groupings of abilities once each before the third becomes available again. This is the rotation you use at the very beginning of the fight and for burst DPS checks. A Character Build refers to the Skills, Quests and Items which players obtain or progress through to build their character in Outward. This can happen whenever you have 2 charges of Smugglers Luck, which will always be the case during your opener. These are the builds that I recommend for different types of content and situations. It also has some fairly strong procs that help to compensate for its low damage and there isnt really anything else you can use that isnt weaker. It still significantly reduces the effectiveness of their DCD, but not all the way. If you dont want to bother with extra relics, just always use the Relic of Serendipitous Assault. This will be fixed the next time you use Burst Volley though. As a defensive cooldown, its your cheese ability. Its easily one of the strongest spammable AoE abilities in the entire game. Finish up with a Blood Bullet, and if they're somehow still alive they'll be heavily debuffed and ready to take 6x damage from your Opportunist Stab. This benefit comes up occasionally in PvE, usually during DPS checks, though it isnt nearly as useful as it is in PvP. Though unable to equip Shields, their ability to deal significantly large amounts of damage make them ideal combatants to hit-lock monsters in the battlefield. You can also put Burst Volley > Penetrating Rounds > Trickshot at the top of the Gap priority if that makes more sense to you. The only other specs that can do this are Juggernaut / Guardian DPS. This allows it to be slotted into any group composition without causing problems. Hideouts cooldown is twice as long as Phase Walks. (Ranged/Energy/Direct/Single-Target/Instant)Depending on your ability tree build, you may need to use this ability during the gap in your rotation sometimes when Cool Head is unavailable in order to keep your Energy at a safe level. Definitely still try to use it and be as preemptive as possible, but this ability really only works when you can predict when and where AoE will be needed well in advance, so this ability is better suited to fights with constant adds. It would also work as an alternative to stunning one of the Chained Manifestations on Styrak NiM. That's all there is to it. BioWare has removed set bonuses from the game and replaced them with Legendary Items, which are just implants with old 4 or 6-piece set bonus effects on them, so rather than needing to collect 4 pieces of a gear set to get the 4-piece set bonus, or 6 pieces for the 6-piece, youll get either a 4 or 6-piece set bonus effect on an implant. Youre able to do this because the ability is only usable within 5 seconds after using each of those abilities. Bombing Run is used as your first pre-cast ability because it has a 3 second delay before it actually deals its first tick of damage, enabling you to precast another ability before pulling. The other seems to be related to PvP balance, but there isnt a clear pattern beyond the choice, forcing players to decide which of 3 capabilities they want to keep. Can I finish this cast before I need to move? Even if the attack looks like a single-target attack, theres a good chance that its still considered AoE damage. Int: Dump. Without the Lay Low ability tree buff, Hunker Down has 30% uptime if its activated on cooldown. The existence of the gap helps to cover for a lot of things that occur in an actual raiding environment, but not on a dummy, like needing to spend a GCD to roll, activate Diversion, hard stun, etc., so you might end up performing better in a lot of fights, particularly ones with a lot of mechanics, by using this build instead of the Sustained DPS build. This is your knockback. Unless theres very significant downtime, this will only need to be built up at the start of the fight and then youll have it. Gunslinger - 3v3 Deathmatch Build. You can also use any non-damaging ability between the 2 Charged Bursts, including ones on the GCD like Diversion. There are two main builds stat wise - dex/agi and dex/vit/int. If you try to mix and match, you will find that you either run out of Energy too quickly or otherwise deal less DPS. Only a tiny portion of the other specs total damage output is considered Ranged damage. This makes it more difficult to escape at the very last second. Make sure you place all of these abilities on your bar in an order that makes sense to you. Due to all this and the fact that the cast fits in the gap in your rotation, you dont have to worry about this taking priority over your other abilities. Here is how many targets it takes for Sweeping Gunfire to surpass each of your rotational abilities in terms of damage per GCD, so if at least X number of targets are present, you can keep channeling Sweeping Gunfire instead of one going into one of these groupings: If you ever use this ability in a boss fight, make sure youre taking the Efficient Ammo ability tree buff. Guild leaders, I personally recommend using the Fortune (yellow) guild perk set bonus instead, which grants 5% critical chance and also boosts the critical rate and time efficiency of all Crew Skills by 2%. If you really want to be a clicker, I highly recommend you at least keybind this ability or you will have trouble with some of the shorter casts that need to be interrupted. If everyones health is getting low or theres a heal check in the current phase, do not hesitate to use your Medpac if you can take full benefit of the health provided or need to be above a certain health level to survive an imminent mechanic. Much like Burst Volley, the gap will not appear when Bombing Run is used. This means you should literally be activating it on cooldown unless theres about to be downtime or youre saving it for a burst DPS check. Instead, there is a new system called the Ability Tree. You should be able to spam Sweeping Gunfire to your hearts content and deal extra splash damage with Aimed Shot. The teleporting animation is significantly longer for Hideout because theres an actual teleportation animation you have to do prior to teleporting but after pressing the button rather than Phase Walk where you just wave your hand and pop up somewhere else instantaneously. Deconstruct all those useless Iron Swords and Machetes that drop from the legions of bandits and you'll be swimming in them. The alacrity boost is much stronger than the critical chance boost, but content isnt balanced around these guild perk set bonuses anyway, so I find it better to just have a smaller boost I dont have to worry about as opposed to a larger boost that I have to interact with. If the damage is force/tech, youre okay to activate your other DCDs and since its RDT, not DR thats being provided, the 75% feels like it isnt doing as much. Most notably, Sharpshooter is the only ranged spec that offers the armor debuff, so if your group needs ranged DPS and lacks the armor debuff, the group DPS gain from the armor debuff can be enough to compensate for the reduced output from Sharpshooter itself. Next up you have to enter cover. (Ranged/Energy/Direct/Single-Target/Casted)This is one of your hardest-hitting abilities. The goal is for the initial 25 Energy to get you back up to the maximum Energy regeneration rate and supply you with enough Energy for your next GCD so you dont fall back into the lower regeneration rate bracket. Also note that Frost Bullet has an AoE component, and will actually apply your pistol's effects in that explosion radius. Use it when you get CCd. Due to the Trickshot ability and how all the different procs and damage boosts interact, it doesnt really help to just use all your abilities on cooldown. Yet they also have the ability to become Rambo, if you want a siege type gunslinger you should probably do dexterity and vitality . Thanks to the Stay Low passive that makes it so you get Hunker Down for 3 seconds after using Hightail It, you always get the Heads Up speed boost after using your roll as well. A wide variety of Gunslinger Builds for PvE and PvP. Operatives are in a similar situation where they lost Surrender, but have access to a passive that gives effects they lost to Dodge. This will probably result in higher max parses, but theyll be less consistent. Trickshot has 2 procs that are relevant to your rotation: Recoil ControlFiring Charged Burst twice in a row, firing Quickdraw or Aimed Shot once, or completing a Penetrating Rounds channel now finishes the cooldown on Trickshot. Lucky Thoughts and Lucky Draw are often redundant since youll be resetting the cooldown of Aimed Shot and Smugglers Luck with each Aimed Shot kill, so I think going for Energy Barrels + Ballistic Redistribution makes more sense since that pair will actually increase your damage output. Sharpshooters rotation is basically to just cycle through 3 main groupings of abilities, all of which include a single use of Trickshot, and then theres a single GCD gap before Aimed Shot tends to come off cooldown. It's considered to be one of the hardest classes to play, due to having to shuffle around your weapons, but it is also one of the most rewarding when played correctly. A lot of the time things are immune to being knocked back and when they arent immune, its better that theyre all grouped up to be killed as fast as possible. In addition, since your Burst Volley utility resets the cooldown on Penetrating Rounds, you end up getting to use it back to back, resulting in even more Vital Shot ticks. This build offers slightly a few hundred less sustained DPS compared to the High Energy Efficiency build, but its a lot more flexible. If you can tweak the order that you use your DCDs where it allows you to get an extra use out of one of them over the course of a long burn phase, you should definitely do that instead of activating your potentially stronger DCDs first. The increased alacrity makes it so you can fit the Penetrating Rounds channel and an additional Trickshot into a similarly sized window of time, even though the gap is normally only a GCD. The options have several similarities across the Combat Styles: This means almost all disciplines had 5 abilities locked away behind choices with the option for players to keep up to 3 of them. From my testing, I was only able to apply it to 85-90% of Aimed Shots. It can be a little different than the standard rotation because everything is off cooldown, including your OCDs and relic procs. The earpiece is the only piece of gear that you really get to pick your tertiary stats for. Without them, the build no longer accomplishes its primary function. Stay behind the boss and cause havoc. Stacks up to 3 times. Its important to practice your rotation on a dummy at least until you can execute it without having to constantly look at your bar. You will slightly delay Aimed Shot and Penetrating Rounds if you do this, but youd only miss out on a single use of each of those abilities if you were using Bombing Run on cooldown in a fight that lasts over 15 minutes. Sharpshooters AoE tactical adds AoE damage to some of your abilities, so just keep doing your rotation and adhering to the priority I listed for when to use Sweeping Gunfire over your other abilities and youll be fine. 3 choices which are just old Utility effects. Each use of Cool Head will allow you to use Charged Burst during 3-4 gaps instead of Flurry of Bolts, though you dont have to think about it like that, just use Cool Head when you get down to 45-50% Energy and only use Charged Burst for your gap GCD if youre above about 80% Energy. It gives you 100% defense/resist chance for the duration of the roll, meaning youre completely immune to taking damage during your roll, provided that its damage that is mitigable, so it wont work against things like 0 damage kills and typeless damage.
